The new laser methane mini (LMm), compact laser methane gas detector, is capable of remotely detecting methane and other gases containing methane (natural gas or similar). It can quickly detect gas leaks or accumulated gas from a remote place by pointing a laser beam at the target, and is even able to detect a leak through glass.
Remote measurement and detection, up to 100 meters (using a reflect sheet)
No specialist or special access equipment required to detect leaks
ATEX approved for industrial use and now includes mining applications
Two versions available with & without Bluetooth
Real-time data display
GPS location tracking
Data storage for traceability
Ability to capture and store images
Easy to Use:
Portable – truly hand-held
Light weight, compact and robust design
Full colour numeric or graphical display
Flexible and Convenient:
User programmable alarm and offset levels
Long battery life – allowing 6 hours of continuous operation from one battery
Self-check and self-calibration at start-up, saves time and ensures consistent high performance and reliability
Accuracy and Reliability:
Responds specifically to methane
Exceptional accuracy – detects even very low levels of methane
Fast response time, typically 0.1 seconds
Detection at Distance:
Current methods, e.g. FID, require users to be within arm’s reach of the gas escape, and to position the detector into the gas cloud, often-requiring scaffolding or special access equipment to reach the leak. In contrast the LaserMethane products only need the emitted beam to pass through the cloud in order to detect methane. By simply pointing the laser beam towards the suspected leak, or along the survey line the handheld unit will monitor the levels of methane detected.
Any gas escape brings with it a risk to the person detecting the leak. By detecting methane at distance the user can work well outside the danger zone. Gas is not the only danger however; the laser methane mini (LMm) compact laser methane gas detector can safely be used to monitor gas pipes that run across rivers and roads as well as in high headroom, industrial and commercial property. Removing the operator from potentially hazardous and hard to reach areas reduces the risk of these situations.
The compact laser methane gas detector offers full data and event logging with external interface and SD card. The LMm has ATEX approval applied for allowing detection in hazardous areas.
