The Apex2 is the latest generation of personal air-sampling pump and is available in three versions — Standard, Plus and Pro — so you can choose the level of monitoring, connectivity and data capture that matches your sampling programme, without paying for capability you don’t need.

All three versions share the same core build: a maximum flow rate of 5 L/min, motion sensing, and intrinsic safety certification, making the Apex2 suitable for reliable personal exposure monitoring across a wide range of industrial and occupational hygiene applications.

Choosing Your Model

Apex2 Standard — No app or connected device required. Ideal where budget, simplicity, or large fleet sizes make remote connectivity unnecessary. The entry point into the range, this is a dependable, straightforward pump for full-shift personal sampling, with results collected via NATA-accredited lab analysis. Running parameters are clearly displayed on the pump’s LED screen.

Apex2 Plus — A great fit for teams wanting the convenience of remote monitoring without full datalogging. The Plus adds Bluetooth® 4.0 connectivity and the Airwave App, so pump status can be checked remotely from a phone or tablet without disturbing the wearer. Plus also adds inlet pressure sensing and a run-duration timer, giving hygienists better visibility into filter loading and sample progress throughout the shift.

Apex2 Pro — Ideal for quality assurance, defending sample validity, and managing larger or more complex sampling programs where documentation matters most. The top of the range, the Pro provides everything in Plus, plus fully programmable timers and full datalogging of flow, pressure and motion across up to 200 stored runs. That gives hygienists an auditable record for every sample.

The core differences among the three models lie in their connectivity, data logging capabilities, and timer programmability. All versions share the same intrinsic safety rating, flow-rate performance, and physical ruggedness.

Design

All Apex2 models feature motion sensing, so you can confirm the pump was actually worn throughout the sample period — critical to defending the validity of your results. The slim, ergonomic design provides a high degree of wearer acceptance, meaning workers are less likely to remove or obstruct the pump mid-shift. An IP65 rating protects against dust and water ingress, and the smooth finish makes the pump easy to decontaminate between uses — useful across dusty, wet or contaminated work environments.

Flow Rate

Every Apex2 model delivers a maximum flow rate of 5 L/min with impressive back-pressure capability, ensuring reliable operation across a wide range of filter media — from standard particulate filters through to more restrictive sampling heads. Inlet pressure is continuously sensed on Plus and Pro models to determine filter loading and support diagnostics in the field, while the Standard model still delivers the same robust flow performance for straightforward sampling runs. Gas and vapour collection is also possible via the gas bag outlet, available across all models.

Long Life

On a full battery charge, all Apex2 models are designed to run for up to three 8-hour shifts before recharging is required — supporting full-shift TWA sampling without the risk of a mid-shift battery cut-out. A charge-level gauge is standard across the range, and the Plus and Pro models also display the estimated remaining runtime to make shift planning easier.
